Is Lines really free?
Yes. Lines is free with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. No trials, no upsells — the app you download is the full app.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Lines works entirely offline. Scripts, settings, and recordings all live on your device. You don't need to create an account or sign in.
Which iPhones and iPads does it support?
Lines runs on iOS 16 and later, on both iPhone and iPad. Recording is supported wherever your device supports it — up to 4K on modern iPhones.
Will my scripts or recordings be uploaded anywhere?
Never. All scripts are stored in the app's sandboxed storage on your device. Recordings save to your Photos library. Nothing is ever sent to a server.
Can I use Lines with an external teleprompter rig?
Yes — enable Mirror Mode in settings and Lines will flip the text for use with beam-splitter glass.
Can I change scroll speed and text size during a recording?
Yes. Every setting applies live with no restart needed — scroll speed (0.25× – 3×), font size (16pt – 48pt), opacity, and line position can all be adjusted mid-take.
