Overview

Lines (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a teleprompter application developed by ZeroApps. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: Lines processes everything locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any server.

Lines does not collect any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Contacts or address book data
• Photos or videos (beyond saving recordings you choose to save to your own Photos library)
• Browsing history
• Financial information
• Health data
• Messages or communications
• Your scripts or text content

Biometric and Face Data

Lines does not collect, process, store, transmit, or analyze any face data or biometric data. Specifically, Lines does not:

• Perform face detection, face recognition, or face tracking
• Use eye tracking, gaze detection, or any facial landmark / geometry detection
• Analyze facial expressions, emotions, or identity
• Use Apple’s Vision framework, ARKit face tracking (ARFaceTrackingConfiguration / ARFaceAnchor), Core ML face models, or the TrueDepth camera for facial processing
• Use Face ID or any biometric authentication

The camera is used solely to capture standard video (and optional audio) of the recording session, which is written directly to a local video file. No frame is ever inspected, classified, or analyzed for facial content. Because no face or biometric data is ever collected, none is shared with third parties, none is stored (locally or remotely), and there is no retention period to disclose.

The app’s tagline “Eye Contact. Every Take.” refers to the on-screen positioning of the script overlay near the top of the display (close to the front camera lens) so the user’s gaze naturally appears directed at the camera while reading. It does not refer to any eye-tracking or facial-sensing technology.

Information Processed Locally (Never Leaves Your Device)

The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device:

• Scripts: Text you type or paste into the app is saved locally using on-device file storage. Scripts never leave your device.
• Recordings: Videos you record are saved to your device’s local storage and optionally to your Photos library. Recordings are never uploaded to any server.
• Settings: Your preferences (font size, scroll speed, opacity, etc.) are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults.

Anonymous Analytics Data

Lines collects minimal, anonymous usage analytics to help us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. This data:

• Is fully anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally
• Contains no personal information, scripts, recordings, or identifiable content
• Includes general usage patterns such as feature usage frequency and session duration
• Is collected through Apple’s standard App Analytics framework
• Can be disabled by turning off “Share Analytics” in your iPhone’s Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements

How We Use Information

• Local data (scripts, recordings, settings): Used exclusively to provide app functionality on your device. We never access, read, or transmit this data.
• Anonymous analytics: Used solely to understand general usage patterns and improve the app experience.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. Period.

We do not use any third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or analytics services beyond Apple’s built-in App Analytics.

Data Storage and Security

All user data (scripts, recordings, settings) is stored locally on your device using iOS’s built-in secure storage mechanisms:

• Scripts: Stored in the app’s sandboxed Documents directory as JSON files
• Recordings: Stored in the app’s sandboxed Documents directory and/or the system Photos library
• Settings: Stored in iOS UserDefaults within the app’s sandbox

Apple’s iOS sandbox ensures that no other app can access Lines’ data.

Device Permissions

Lines requests the following device permissions:

You can manage these permissions at any time in your iPhone’s Settings > Lines.

Children’s Privacy

Lines does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and is safe for users of all ages.

Third-Party Services

Lines does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs that collect user data. The app functions entirely offline.

The only third-party component is Apple’s standard App Analytics, which is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy and can be controlled by the user through iOS Settings.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Deleting a script: Permanently removes it from your device
• Deleting a recording: Permanently removes the video file from the app’s storage
• Uninstalling the app: Permanently removes all app data including scripts, settings, and locally stored recordings

Recordings saved to your Photos library will remain there until you manually delete them, as they become part of your system Photos library.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your data including:

• Right to Access: All your data is already on your device and accessible to you
• Right to Deletion: You can delete any script or recording within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all data
• Right to Portability: You can share recordings via the iOS share sheet

Since we don’t collect or store your data on any server, most data rights are automatically fulfilled by the local-only architecture.
